Stand for something or you will fall for anything. And that is what I do. If you have no expectations, goals, dreams, standards or values you will fall for nearly anything. Many will say that "patience is a virtue", but I believe that will power and sustainability is a real talent. I truly admire those that stick with their promises, and their words. What is the purpose of a promise, if you know you are going to break it? Setting yourself up for disappointment or failure, not only to yourself but to those you surround yourself with. I am a true believer in actions speak louder than words and I try to live by this every single day. I could repeatedly tell myself "I can do it", and when the time comes and I can't, I surrender, I forfeit... I fail. Therefore, I Have learned to not make promises I know I can't keep. Many might agree that I have a bad reputation of bailing on people. Through the years I have learned to cope with a "Ill try to make it" or "Ill see what I can do" then a "I promise i'll be there", it has caused major conflict in many friendships of mine in the past.
Besides modesty, will power (self discipline/inner strength) is an attribute I simply adore and I admire. Whether it be to a diet, temptations, peer pressure, promise keeping, committing to a person, school, work or a hobby, it all requires will power.

Im Just Not That Into You
“It is better to lose your pride with someone you love rather than to lose that someone you love with your useless pride.”
What absolutely perplexes me at times is a man and his behavior. Does being a male slut or using foul language make you more badass? The answer is no. I love the modest man, I absolutely adore him. I guess I love the modest man because my father and my brother are some of the most modest men you can find. Unfortunately, my dad is taken by my mother and my brother just isn't relationship focused. These men don't brag, they speak the truth, they respect the women in their life, and their not materialistic by any means. I am sickened when I eavesdrop on men talking trash on women, bragging about how many girls they have been with or how much more they can drink. It just screams how uneducated you are. Maybe chivalry isn't dead, but we could sure use more chivalrous men out there. Where art thou Romeo?

Colors
Diversity. Defined as different or various. I love it. It gives me a huge smile on my face and warms my heart when I see a couple in public of two different races, or when you see someone speaking another language (different of their own) or just an array of bright colors together, like a sunset, it illuminates my soul. I love the acceptance it brings. It gives me a sense of accomplishment in society, because in the past it wasn't nearly accepted to mix colors in anything. I think when children are exposed to two different cultures, it is beautiful. Although it can bring some controversy to tweek with tradition, what is wrong with having two traditions? Or at least trying it out and compare and contrast which you like better? The Easter bunny? Hannukah? Santa Claus? Los Reyes? El dia de los Muertos? Chinese New Year? Yom Kippur? Oktoberfest? Mardi Gras? Personally, I was raised with very little tradition in regards to holidays, religion, etc (not my parents fault, just the American way), in comparison to my boyfriend and his family. And personally, I love their traditions a lot more.
For example, one new tradition I absolutely loved and hope to continue through the years was on New Years Eve, we went to church before midnight and we sat there in complete silence on our knees for however long we needed praying, forgiving, confessing, and reflecting.
Why be scared to learn something new? What harm can it do you? Some of the most thrilling and unforgettable moments of my life have been where I have immersed myself to do something new and exciting and think out of the box. I challenge you to emerge yourself and not be closed minded, only then can you share an opinion and educate others.
